Understanding Exclusions

Requirement to check OIG.GOV for individuals that have commited fraud against Medicaid and are forbidden to work for any agency or bill for services. When the requirement is to have proof that a check has been run every month, the government exclusions application of SpokeChoice will run that check every month starting the first week of the month.

The application will run against the federal governments site (OIG.GOV) and enter the first and last name of the employee, take an image and save it as a PDF on the server for proof/reference. It is important to note that having the legal name of the employee in the database is very important. Adding nick names or any other non legal character could provide false results.

Because OIG.GOV prohibits certain automated processes there might be some manual checking that needs to be done. If a first and last name searched that might return more than one name a social security number might need to be entered to help further verify that individual. OIG.GOV prohibits this for reasons of guessing and stealing Social Security Numbers and randomly might require a Captcha number to be entered by the operator. These searches need to be manually done against this URL: Search the Exclusions Database | Office of Inspector General (hhs.gov)

After the search is done save this file as a PDF and upload it into Government Exclusions for further reference.

After the search has been completed at the first of the month you should open Government Exclusions and all the employees that need to be search will be sorted to the top after you've search for the month in question. Any record with a check box on the "requires manual check" are the ones that need to be manually checked, PDF saved and uploaded.

To upload the checked/saved record click on the command column and start the process
